About Me
My books show how a deeper understanding of neuroscience can improve our understanding of mental health and improve treatment.
I trained at the Anna Freud National Center for Children and Families in England and have practiced psychotherapy in the United States, South Africa and England. Most recently, I was head of child and adolescent psychotherapy at the Leicester Partnership NHS Trust in the U.K. I became interested in neuroscience twenty five years ago, leading to my collaboration with Jaak Panksepp in 2012. After living in the U.K. for many years, I returned to the U.S. and currently live in Maryland.
